Past Experiences

Mrs. Carol A. Picott has served and taught in the field of education for about 30 years with both private and public school education.  Carol was a Before and Aftercare teacher for the 4-H program in Little Rock, California, and began working with the Palmdale Southern Baptist Church Pre-school before and after the program from 1988 to 1992.


Carol became a combination teacher with Roseanne’s Private School teaching Kindergarten through third grade from 1992 to 1994. Carol became a vital part of First Church of God Christian School from 1994-2006, where the late Bishop Benjamin F. Reid was the founder and Dr. Feager A. Pertilla was Principal.

Carol held various positions in the school; the Director of the Before and After program; multi-subject teacher; resource teacher; P.E. Director; and finally teaching Pre-school through second grade.


In addition to teaching, she had the opportunity to be Director of her own 6 to 8 week Before and After School Summer program in the inner city of Inglewood, CA called the Blended Teachers Before and After school program with a staff of 4 teachers and 60 children from 2001 -2004.


In the fall of 2004 she became the Youth Coordinator working with Homeless mothers & children with Union Rescue Mission, a Christian Organization in the heart of urban living in downtown Skid Row for about 7 years.  She also served and held the position as the Family Advocate & Housing Case Manager for hundreds of families and programs in the poverty stricken areas of Los Angeles.

Carol served as the Liaison for Union Rescue Mission working with LAUSD schools advocating and helping families enroll their children in an educational institution.  She worked with Operation School Bell which provided uniforms and school supplies for these indigenous individuals. She served in the position as Peer Advocate and Life Skills Counselor with a HOPICS Co-occurring Treatment Program working with individuals who suffered from dual diagnosis in substance abuse or mental health teaching life skill classes, enrolling in school, housing programs, etc.


Carol returned to the field of education in 2013-2015 with Fredrick K.C. Price Schools III as a Pre-Kindergarten and second-grade teacher under the leadership of Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Feager A. Pertilla.


Carol is a great educator and worked as Before and After School Program as teacher and floater with A Bright Beginning Child Development Center working with small groups of children with differences based on learning needs.  She ensured all students were learning at their full potential. She made sure she provided a safe fun-filled environment with extra-curricula activities and basic studies for homework/tutorial help and a warm meal before going home with their families.


Carol is currently working in the role of Interventionist Behaviorist through Intervention Behavior Intensive Consultants, Inc. a private agency contracted with LAUSD working with children who have Autism from mild to severe behavior challenges of learning and focusing on a main classroom setting. This program assesses the challenges individuals face when functioning in daily activities; set goals for behavioral changes; monitor the client, and assess progress; lastly, it addresses and immediate dangers or threats.

Carol serves as a Life Coach at her church Zoe Christian Fellowship since 2004. Additionally, she serves as a Layman training with the Awaken Christian Coaching program since 2015. Carol has training in church counseling through Daybreak Personal and Spiritual Growth with Saddleback Church since 2015. She is a great educator, mentor, and woman of God.
